Job Vacancy HR Coordinator
Project / Department HR and Wellbeing
Contract Type 6 months with possibility of extension
Hours p/w Full time, 40 h/week
Overview

This position is newly created for an experienced HR professional to lead on establishing and Coordinating an HR and Wellbeing Department within an expanding grassroots organisation.

Key objectives/responsibilities of the role
  • Manage contracts, payslips, authorisations, sick leave, annual leave, absences due to maternity/paternity, etc.
  • Identify employment needs with Coordinators and Board.
  • Overview the implementation of personnel and recruitment process including standardising adverts, shortlisting candidates, scheduling and conducting interviews (alongside other relevant team members) and informing applicants about position details and hiring decisions.
  • Work collaboratively to define and implement training, development, and wellbeing schemes. Facilitate and coordinate external facilitators and ensure workshops, trainings etc are delivered in a timely and effective manner. 
  • Coordinate onboarding and new employee orientation. 
  • Overview regular staff performance / commitment reviews and ensure reporting to relevant parties.
  • Keep process paperwork as well as employment and evaluation records using specialist tools, programmes where relevant. 
  • Maintain oversight of staff complaints mechanism and participate on ad hoc boards to facilitate mediation, conflict resolution and dismissal, if applicable.
  • Coordinate offboarding and staff evaluation.
  • Explore and develop participatory mechanisms to include staff in HR processes and wellbeing.
  • Keep yourself up-to-date regarding labour laws, occupational health and safety etc. and update relevant policies, if applicable
  • As a member of the Quality Assurance team ensure the proper implementation of the Quality Assurance Policy, update relevant files and coordinate relevant activities under your area of responsibility (file and policy updates, coordination with other departments etc).
Required experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Human Resources in the Greek context including up-to-date knowledge of relevant labour laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills. 
  • Experience in meeting moderation / facilitation.
  • Experience in using and maintaining databases and records.
  • Experience working in NGOs.
  • Fluency in Greek with proficiency in English (oral and written)
Required qualities
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team including prioritising workload and deadlines.
  • Ability to create a respectful work environment where an atmosphere of trust and integrity prevails, and everyone is accountable for one’s conduct and performance.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to work in a solidarity organisation
