Project / Department MHPSS project, Asklipios
Hours Per Week Full time, 40 hours /week
Overview The target of this project is to provide mental health support for cases of either refugees or locals with increased mental health needs in Lesvos island. Social inclusion and access to social rights are among the scopes of this project.
Key objectives / responsibilities of the role The psychologist will participate in designing and implementing a pilot MHPSS project.
  • Design and facilitate psychosocial group interventions/activities
  • Monitor, plan and facilitate educational, recreational, integration activities with other team members (i.e., social worker, educational facilitator, nurse)
  • Co-design the case plan/case management services with respective colleagues
  • Conduct psychological assessments, when needed
  • Establish network with external psychosocial / support actors on the island
  • Respond to mental health emergencies
  • Advise the team on interventions and how to deal with a mental health disorder
Required experience
  • Degree in psychology
  • Experience in working with migrant populations
  • Experience in working with interpreters is preferable
  • Good spoken and written English is preferable
Required qualities
  • Team player, cooperative spirit
  • Also able to work independently
