Overview of Project and
Position

Typically reporting to the Finance Coordinator, the Financial Data Officer is responsible for updating, maintaining and archiving the relevant finance databases concerning payments, invoices, and general expenses of the organization, accurately and in a timely manner. The Financial Data Officer is- amongst other duties- responsible for the accurate creation of receipts and invoices and for the preparation of reports to donors and collaborates closely with the Finance Payment Officer under the supervision of the Financial Coordinator.

Key objectives/responsibilities of the role
  • Enter budgets into the general ledger system.
  • Provide instructions and answer questions relating to budget procedures.
  • Monitor the budgets and approve expenses.
  • Assist the Financial Analyst in administering the expenditure of funds ensuring that funds are expended according to sponsoring organization’s stipulations and appropriate guidelines.
  • Prepare financial reports to donors.
  • Store all financial and accounting documents and records.
  • Assist Financial Analyst in collecting data relevant to monthly financial closure, reporting and forecasting.
  • Complete, upload and edit the spreadsheets used by Finance Department as electronic archives.
  • Assist Financial Analyst in providing Fundraising with financial information (e.g. invoices, receipts, relevant documentation including translations if needed, etc).
  • Prepare documentation and apply for state subsidies or other financial support opportunities.
  • Create invoices for Mosaik Shop.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Finance Coordinator.
Required experience
  • At least 2 years of finance experience in an organised setting.
  • Previous administration experience.
  • Computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel.
  • Fluency in Greek and English financial terminology.
  • Accurate data entry skills.
