Overview of Project and Position
The project focuses on the provision of dignified accommodation for vulnerable population. Liaises with services offered by external actors and offers a personalized, care & development plan.
The case worker will be responsible for the monitoring of needs and the case management, consequently.
Key objectives
Responsibilities
Proposing and planning best practices for the beneficiaries, as well as further interventions based on needs and gaps mapping.
Ensure appropriate care and support regardless of individual characteristics.
Monitor and record incidents of racism, discrimination, xenophobia, violation of human rights etc. Lesol is member of the Monitoring Network for Racist violence.
Participate in the responsible team for constructive conflicts resolution and crisis management process/emergency interventions
Attend team, supervision, training meetings, workshops and working groups with external stakeholders
Follow the documentation/ reporting system ISO
Ensure and respect confidentiality
Responsible for the referral process:
Conduct the intake interview
Welcome the beneficiaries and explain the way the apartment functions in collaboration with the other MHPSS members
Provide informational sessions about the rules of the housing program
House meetings support, aiming to improve the housing conditions, the provision of services as well as the implementation of rules.
Case management:
Case planning / Co-design the case management plan of the beneficiary and conduct the case plan reviews
Social Support
Support the beneficiaries in their bureaucratic procedures in collaboration with the external services and stakeholders being responsible for their case.
Conduct sessions with the beneficiaries relevant to external housing programs following the referral pathway
Provision of support for access in social and medical services, train, assist them or accompany them when required.
Personalized care & development plan:
Conduct individual and group sessions
Conduct needs assessment sessions with the beneficiaries and reviews those regularly
Vulnerability assessment follow-up
Conduct sessions with the beneficiaries relevant to their inclusion process
Arranging the registration of beneficiaries in educational programs, Mediation between parents and school teachers if needed.
Required degree Experience
Social Work, Social/ Humanitarian Sciences
At least 2 years’ experience as a case worker, or social worker. The knowledge and experience of the migrant and refugees’ context is highly appreciated
Required qualities
Cross Cultural Awareness and flexibility
Computer literacy & numeracy
Well organized and efficient
Good interpersonal & communications skills
Native in Greek. Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
Any other language and a driving license will be considered an asset
