He was born in the city of Qom in Iran and grew up in Kashan, a region with a long tradition of weaving and making handmade wool and silk carpets. This is our cutter, Ali, who takes care of all fabrics and recycled materials (life jackets, boats, tents) before handing them over to our tailors and making them usable items again. His work requires precision and patience. "My tasks include cleaning the materials properly and cutting them according to the shapes and pattern," explains 34-year-old Ali, who has been in Lesvos since 2019. From then until now, in a difficult period also marked by the pandemic, Ali has managed to live under decent conditions ( to make a daily living in decent conditions). What makes him happiest is his hobby, 5X5 football, a field in which he also thrives. In a short time Ali has managed to become coach of the refugee team that trains with the support of YSR (Yoga and Sport with Refugees) in Spanos Mini Football Club in Panagiuda, which collaborates with Olympiacos FC and where since 2017 various tournaments of refugee teams of minors and adults are held! Thank you for being part of our team, Ali!
